Biography

Artist Bio
        Tito Sebastiani

I have always dabbled in one form of art or another, though I have no formal training. During my 34 years in the corporate world, creating art was a catharsis from the regimentation and requirement to 'fit the mold' in order to succeed. Upon retirement in 2002, I began working full time at creating art using new and unexpected media whenever and wherever possible. This is another attempt to prove to the establishment (especially my first grade teacher) that it really is all right to color outside the lines!

And, so it is with my art. I create because I believe I am inspired and hope God is pleased with my return of the gift He has given me. If He's happy and I'm happy, what more could I possibly hope to accomplish? To have someone purchase my work is simply icing on the cake.  It's a pleasant and enjoyable world here - outside the lines!

I love bright and vibrant colors for most of my work, and I am constantly experimenting with new mediums. The resulting textures are amazing, and next to color, my work is all about textures.

Native American art has always been of interest to me, and I now enjoy being a student of their culture.  I am so impressed with their history and lore, and amazed at their insite, spirituality and gentleness.  My work is an attempt to represent the detail of their art, and is not intended to suggest authenticity

In March 2003 I was the featured artist at the Phoenix Home & Garden Show and displayed 11 of my cement sculptures in the lobby of the Phoenix Civic Center.

In April 2006 I was awarded several ribbons for my copper 2 dimensional sculpture work from the Southeast Arizona Fine Art and Photography Show.  I was also honored with the Sponsor's Award from Mr. Tony Cohorn
Head of Indian Affairs
Chiricahua Regional Museum
& Research Center
Willcox, Arizona
