Superstition Farm camps set for June, July
Saddle up and ride! It's an everyday activity in Westerns — and it can be a part of summer fun for kids at the Superstition Farm Horse Camp in June and July.
And if your kids aren't into equine, there's Farm Camp, where campers ages 5-10 will get learn all about farm life by feeding and caring for the animals.
Activities at Horse Camp, open to children 4 and older, will include riding instructions, grooming techniques and tips, games, projects and more. Classes will be available for beginners and intermediate-level riders over six weeks beginning June 8 and ending the week of July 20. (No camps are scheduled for the last week of July.)
Beginners' camp sessions will be on Thursdays and Fridays, while intermediate camp sessions will be on Mondays and Tuesdays. All sessions will run from 8-11 a.m. A complete Horse Camp schedule is posted here.
Horse Camp classes are $75 per day if purchased day to day, or $120 for each two-day session. There is also a $50 non refundable deposit per rider. Prior approval and discussion of the child’s past riding experience is required for the intermediate camp.
At Farm Camp, participants will learn about sustainable living and farm ecology, principals of animal welfare, organic gardening and more, with hands-on play and exploration.
Farm Camp will run five Tuesday-Thursday sessions, 8-11:30 a.m., beginning the week of June 8 and ending the week of July 13. Camp classes can be purchased on a day-to-day basis for $40 per day or $100 for all three days. A complete Farm Camp schedule is posted here.
The camp includes a daily snack. Advanced reservations are required, and "Mommy & Me" classes are available.
Sign ups for any of the summer camps can be made by phone at (602) 432-6865 or online here.
