Great Ride Carousels when you think of them shouldn't be as enjoyable as they are. But, they are. This is a great one. Take the kids. Ride it a few times each time you go. Enjoy yourself.

Old School Gus's has got it in the sweet old-fashioned way. Cheese, oregano, pepperoni, maybe some mushrooms, but I don't eat them. Gus's new twist is fresher ingredients. But Gus is like that to the ladies, too. Fresh, that is. What a card.

Begged Question Great restaurant, but why Philadelphia? I hope there's a taste of Syracuse in Philly. Seems like a good idea for a lend-lease agreement.

Gaelic? The name of the place says if all if you're a drunken Irishman. Otherwise, you have to see the menu to know you're in for good eats.

Local Pizza Joints Lupino's is great. I love the food. I tease the waitresses every time I eat there. When they ask what I want, I always say, "Ida know." They never get it.

Quality Pizza? Hey, man. Don't forget the women. Mandeno's may be good for the men. But, my honey says she likes Mandena's. Figgers, don't it? OK, try both. It's a big old world. There's room for two.

Nice Franchise Pizza's good. Tables are round. I like them that way. I'll take a 24-inch table with a 16-inch pie on it, please. That leaves plenty of table border for glasses and napkins.

Great Addition Boy they put everything into the Presidio, didn't they? Watch out for the water hazard, though. It's a big 'un.
Good Theater I can't think of a better way to spend time in a community than to perform with a group of community players. Join the group either on stage, back stage, or in the audience. You'll be happy you did. It's like going to church with larger glasses of wine after the show.

Such Variety Me and the Missus like to come to the Noodle House to tie one on. Haw, haw. Sorry, I couldn't resist. Our waitress hates that joke, but what the heck. I'm a good tipper. Try the Shanghai Noodle Surprise. It always changes.

The Hut When the Missus sez, "let's go to the Hut," she means this Pizza Hut on Vincent Avenue. I don't know what it is, but everything works for us at this Hut. And, I always take her, especially on Saturday evening. Make the Missus happy, I always say, because she'll make me happy, if'n ya catch my drift. She loves the double peperoni.

Calzones We go to Cactus Jack's for the calzones and subs. It's that extra touch Jack is known for that really toasts the Missus' bun, so to speak. Dine in the shade of the San Bernardino Freeway.

One Question The pizza was to die for, but one thing had me scratchin' my head. I kept looking for the Bucks. I didn't even see one. What's up with 5 Bucks? I did see some deer on the way to Cedar Breaks, though.

The Chinesse I like to call this the Chinesse, because of the way they spell it. I wish they had waitresses. I could say, "I know this waitresse at the Chinesse." It sort of rhymes. Oh yeah, I like the food.

Irish All The Way My Irish pals, Mick and Sean, tell me "pub" this will do. It's not quite great, but we're in Seattle. They'd expect better in New York. To me, it's only a matter of degrees. It costs more money to get to Ireland than to get to Finn Mac's. But, then again, since my operation, I'm pretty even.

Great Greens When I was caught in that huge I-78 parking lot t'other day, all I could think of after I ran out of gas was the consistency of the greens at Windyhill. Is it obvious I'm single?

Something Else My wife and I had a great time at the amphitheater both times we went. Funny thing is, and you won't believe it, the parking lot seemed to have more Chevys in it than any other make of car. I drive a Ford. It was easy to find.

They named the place Camelback, because there was a stuffed camel near the door of the old place. Everyone tried to take it and they had to call out, "hey, you. Put the camel back." Hence, the name. (They don't own up to it, though.)

Reminds Me of the Futurists I like posters that take a little time to decipher. This one doesn't take long, but the journey is still fun. The way she laid out the lettering against the background allows the message to emerge quickly. I'd certainly like the journey to last a little longer, but that may not be everyone's opinion. The colors she chose seem contemporary, too. Overall, it works for me.
