Sun Valley High School Reviews

hi i had been at sun valley high schol two years ago.I would like to say that this is a great school, because i had good experiencies en every class.Ihad learned english.Teacher are so excelents you feel like in your house when you have a question or when you have a problem.Sun valley high school is worried about students and their progress always.I would like to sai thank you to my teachers because I am in college now and I know so many things that i had learned at sun valley.

I currently attend sunvalley and honestly love this school.I used to hate school until I came here the teachers and staff and the students are nice and laid back.I will always remember my school after I graduate.

I've always hated school. When I was a Sophomore in HS I told my parents that I needed to graduate ASAP or I might not make it through HS. We found Sun Valley and I am so glad that we did. I graduated my Junior year in the top 10% of my class and received a Scholarship. The teachers there are awesome - they actually CARE about each and every student... I've never experienced that any where else. If your child hates school, they may love Sun Valley. They care about helping you succeed and change any negative in your life. I would strongly recommend this school to anyone that was falling behind or was thinking about dropping out...get a real diploma at a great school!

This is a great school. My son lost interest in school until we found Sun Valley. Teachers are awsome and the principal is the best. Give your kids the gift of knowledge.

I am a past student who graduated from Sun Valley in '07. With there help I am now in College as a presidential scholar. This school helped me get focused on what was important and get me life back on track. I would recommend it to anyone.

Sun Valley is a great school, perfect for exchange students as you concentrate on a subject for a longer period of time. The teachers are helpful and the student body is diverse. I see no reason why this school has a lower scored than Highland, other than a lack of sport programs. I am impressed with the faculty and the flexibility of schedule.

sun valley is a school for second chances and new begginings. the staff is the best i have seen yet.... considering i have gone to many school...... this is the one i love the most and succeed the most

Teachers are of the best quality, compassionate, caring, educated individuals. Safety is top priority, cameras and officers on duty. Open to parent involvement. Concentrates on academics not dress codes etc...

This school isn't only for troubled kids. My child is a 4.0 student, National Honor Society with one of the top AIMS grades for 2007. She will be able to graduate as a junior due to their computer in class program and at home independent studies. They are strict with attendence and Fridays are make up or tutor days. You cannot get this from a public school. Oh, Teachers are top notch, security as well. Happy, Happy, Happy with this school.

This school is one of the most involved schools I have ever seen. They are absoulutly 100% dedicated to helping children reach their goals in life.Sun Valley High is the only school I have attended that made me feel like I could do something with my life, aswell as made me realize that its never too late to make a difference. This school is willing to take troubled kids and try to change their lives to better their future and the future of other generations

I went to sun Valley between 2002- 2003 and I love this school in fact I still talk with some of the staff and teachers I am now a caregiver for senior citizens and I am working on my nursing degree so I feel sun valley really does help put you on the right path

I graduated from Sun Valley and I loved it. It is a good school for kids who don't fit into the usual mold of public schools. The teachers are amazing and treat the students like competent members of society and not just stupid kids. Their class structure allows you to graduate quickly, or go at your own pace. Also, the classes are very different than that of a public school. I learned a lot about things such as the Cold War, the 60's, and women's literature in great depth. You don't just read a huge history book and then are expected to understand history. They teach in ways that make it come to life and really seem real for students. I, for one, was just really bored with public schools' curriculum and Sun Valley was a refreshing change for me to learn a lot more than I would have otherwise.

I am so glad my daughters attend Sun Valley High School. It enabled one to graduate 1 year early and the other to catch up and graduate on time.

Sun Valley High School has been good for my son. He's gone from totally failing to having a B average. He likes the format, where school work is done in School, not at home. This allows him to focus on school when he's there, and focus on his part time job when he's not. Kids don't need to be loaded down with homework, so much that they begin to resent the school and having no other life than doing homework. This way when there are questions, then they have the teacher right there to answer questions. This format works and I commend the school doing it. My son isn't into football or other sports, so the extracurriclar activities aren't important, he wasn't popular jock, so he didn't fit into that perfect little mold. This school as been good for him. The principle and teachers genuinely care about the kids.

Great school. Our daughter has responded well to the excellent teachers and staff.

this school is great. They provided free daycare for my daughter when she was pregnant. They also have ralfs snack bar for lunch.mmmmmm its really good. The students there are all drug-free and the school provides a bright future for them.

I think Sun Valley has definitely kept my son's interest, but I am concerned about certain aspects of the education there. For example- one of the instructors has a rule that if a student has perfect attendance for the length of the class, the student automatically receives a 100% score on both the mid term and the final exam. Is this really the best way to teach kids how to learn? How many of the students who pass the course actually learn the material and how many pass the course because of perfect attendance. Just because a student is there every class does not mean he or she has learned what is necessary to pass the class. Maybe this is why the AIMS scores are so low, the students are given passing grades when they have not earned them.

I have two children that go to this school and my husband and I have never been happier with any other school like we have with Sun Valley High. The princible is wonderful and so are all of the teachers who teach here. The teachers and staff really motivate the children there to get an education and they always seem to go out of their way for each and every student. A couple years ago my 16 year old daughter thought she really didnt need an education, but after Mr. Procopio incorraged, motivated her and explained how important her education is, she was back in school before you knew it and is now graduating this year 2005, but will be done 5 months early before graduation day. Thank you Mr. Procopio for all your motivation and for caring so much about all your students at Sun Valley High !

I am still not sure what I think about SVH but so far it has kept my son's attention. He has been willing to go daily, which he hasn't until now. My hope is that he is actually learning something too. Hard to tell with the AIMS scores so low.
