AAEC - SMCC Campus Reviews

I've been attending AAEC-SM since my freshmen year.. I think it has been the smartest decision that I have ever made. I've gone a way with learning so much and gained college experience. I'm in my last year here and I'm leaving with two AA degrees and plan to transfer in Cal State.

I've been attending AAEC at Red Mountain since my sophomore year. I am returning as a senior this upcoming year. I can't explain how awesome this experience has been. Honestly, I think it's a great thing to actually be able to attend college while still in high school. I think anyone who attends this school will witness the blessing and understand how much this school truly offers.

I have two children that attended AAEC-SMCC campus. Our older daughter will Graduate ASU Barretts Honors College at age 20 with a 4.0 on full scholership. She intends to apply for law school in October. Our younger daughter is a Junior at AAEC maintaining a 3.8 GPA. She will graduate high school with 60+ college credits. Both of my daughters benefited so much by having the college experience being so much a part of their high school experience. The staff gave them the confidence to steer through the scholership application process and a real leg up on how to choose the best coarse curriculum to achieve their college goals. The staff encouraged the highest level of college goal setting in way that gives the students great self confidence.

I've had 2 graduates from AAEC, 1 who will be a Senior and another a Freshman (Fall 2007). I home school and wanted a way for my children to transition into public education and prepare to continue their education at the University level. AAEC's committed staff and their academic programs have helped to make the change for my children from home education to public education at higher levels confidently. Comments from my children by SMCC staff suggest that the High School students were better students than the general students in their classrooms. As a person with a Master's Degree in Education, a current teaching certificate and experience teaching in public schools, I believe that students rise to meet the expectations of their principal and staff which I feel attributes to AAEC's success. The fitness center, student government, horse riding classes, FFA, yearbook, science lab and honors programs help too.

Our expectations for our daughter's freshman year were more than fulfilled. High academic standards were coupled with outstanding instruction and innovative, hands-on learning opportunities. The learning environment is highly personalized, inspiring success and achievement. AAEC is the perfect fit for our daughter and our family!

My child has finished her freshman year at AAEC-SM. The campus is new and while there are bugs to be worked out, it has been a good first year. The opportunity for students to earn a college degree while still in high school is an awesome advantage. The academic programs can be tailored to the student. The school does not have music, art, and sports programs like that of other public high schools, however there are other extra-curricular activities for the students, as well as opportunties to participate in these areas in through Parks and Recreation and the college. Parental involvement has been lacking, however, we are working hard to turn that around and hope to have an activity Parent Teacher Organization during the 2007/2008 school year. I would recommend this school to any parent looking to enhance their child's academic career.

I have been attending AAEC since I was a freshman and I am now a junior. I absolutely love this school it has offered me everything that I could ever dream of. I would recommend this school to any student that is willing to work hard however if you want to skid by in school than this isn't the school for you.

This is a great school, offers an opportunity for students to take college classes. They get full college credit and high school credit for classes. The falculty is top notch. I have 2 children in this school not yet graduated, and one of them has accumulated 40 college credits. Sports is not offered at this school, some of the students are on surrounding public school teams and still attend this school for the academics. The High School pays for the College Classes.

My child has been at AAEC for two years now. While at AAEC, she has developed a new interest in math and science at which she is excelling. I find the staff to taylor the ciriculum for the students. I would definitly recommend this school for any child that wants to get a head start in academics.

I think that when it comes down to it, AAEC is a great school but I think the teachers overload the students. I understand that AAEC is a College Prepatory School but with the college class work and highschool work, it is a big overload. My kid comes home stressed because there's too much work assigned to do in so little time. I think that the teachers should get together and come up with a plan where you can give either less assighments or give them more time. Overall, I like this school and I would not send my child to any other school.

I will not fear the skills my student will enter into any conpetitive college four year system with because AAECI has prepared him for success! The best caliber instructors that really care how well the students understand real acedmics that will be needed to propell our young man and women toward sucess. The level of knowledge and understanding that my student demonstrates in bio molucular technology is far above my own training in the sceinces.

Both of my children attend the South Mountain campus of AAEC. I am so pleased with the program. My son will graduate this year and will be close to earning an A.A. degree. My daughter, a 9th grader is taking 12 college credits in addition to a full high school load. She will earn both a high school diploma and an A.A. degree in four years. Perhaps, the best aspect of the program is its ability to meet the unique needs of each student. My son received individual tutoring in writing skills from an exceptional English teacher, while my daughter continues to be challenged by the high quality math and science curriculum. Teachers at AAEC encourage students to think, analyze, and investigate in an atmosphere that promotes life-long learning. My children believe that their teachers care about them and feel supported. I am so pleased we discovered this school.

I have two girls going to AAEC. I am very pleased with the with the education they are receiving. The English teacher has taught my girls more about grammer and how to write than any of their teachers before.

I love this place. I have learned more here in 2 weeks than I have in 3 years in my prior school. I am not kidding.

Great school that really takes the skills of each student and strenghtens them in to productuve sound educational base. The ability for my daughter to take equine science and vet. tech course work keeps her motivated and focused on school. The school is small enough that each student has the advantage of one on one time with the upper level doctorete Instructor for science research based research. Colloge Credit to boot, what more could a partent ask for? My daughter will graduate from here and seems to love every minite she is in class.

Amazing high school! It is more like a college with wonderful innovative courses like biotechnology and equine science.

If only all schools could provide the educational setting that is provided by AAEC we would not have to worry about our students achiviement levels in Arizona. My students have been very successful in school and after they graduated because of the wonderful opportunities provided to them by AAEC.
