Arts Academy at South Mountain Reviews

I have three children attending Arts Academy. I love the staff, they are friendly and always smiling. My boys know all of the teachers and staff by name. This is a great plus because they know if an adult does not belong at their school, this is a good safety measure. I chose this school because the schools in my district were underperforming and my boys were excelling in their previous district. This school has not let me down as far as academics and have exceeded my expectations in caring for each individual student. I love the family atompshere.

My daughter attended the kindergarten class this year. She has done so well, and has amazed me with her reading, math and spelling capabilities. What a terrific program for these early learners!

This was my son's first here at this school, and the only reason i sent him there was because i was told by a family member how well this school was.I am very grateful that his teacher does take the time out to talk to me one on one or even to pick up the phone and ask me if i can call her so she can let me know what is going with him and how he is doing.I think that is what you call leadership.Good job.Keep up the good work.

my child loves going to school, the staff is great, they seem to take the time to get to now the children by name. and I love that theres small class I hope that does not change.

Academic programs are acceptable. Students able to participate in arts activities. Small class sizes. Director is nice. Communication can be unclear and unorganized.

I have just enrolled my kids here. They love it!

My son attends Arts Academy at South Mountain. He is in Kindergarten. I am amazed on how much he has already learned! It seems very advanced for Kindergarte, but I am excited because I see my son so excited to share with me what he is doing in class. He walks around our house and sings songs that he has learned in music. We love this school.

As a parent, it bothers me that the principal made comments on the site because he felt he had to 'defend' the school. The school speaks for itself in the lack of organization, starting at the top and trickling down. We believe that a principal should know how to spell principal and not principle.

Academy of Arts has been a wonderful experience for my son. He just loves his teacher, and rest of the school staff! This is a small school with a BIG heart, and a place for children and families to grow.

The teachers and faculty at this school really care about the children. My child required some extra help in many areas including mathematics and reading, which the teachers were very supportive and CREATIVE in coming up with a solution to teach him in a way that he could understand. Now he has a desire to learn like never before. Thank you to this school for all you have done!

PLC Charter school has a wonderful teaching staff and a great range of activities for children. Our families experiences at PLC Charter haave all been positive ones.

I really love the before and after school programs offered. Additionally, I appreciate the hands-on approach each teacher takes with my childrens' education.

I like the multi-cultural diversity offered at the Arts Academy. I have found my daughter has made improvements in her self-esteem as well as her academics.

I feel Littleton elementary is an excellent school for my child. The Principal and teachers have the childrens future on their agenda. I love Little elementary!

As Superintendent of this school, I am writing this response because I was the principle at the time of the past negative comments. For the past five years, our school has been evolving into the professional learning community it is today. Our current Site Director, Kris Johnson, and her staff have created a family-friendly and academically-rich environment. As a team we are proud to say that our students have acheived academic yearly progress for the past three years. We are also excited about the fact that we are seeing a character growth in our students, which is resulting in higher student retention. In short, parents and students who come here want to stay.

Awesome opportunity for children to learn the basics and also get a great open door to the arts.

A performing arts school should be more than just high turnover and lack of education. The school name sounds good, but it's not a performing arts school at all. Choose some of the other performing arts schools in the valley.

My children attended this school last year. It was the worst experience for all of us in the family. We were lied too from the beginning of the year to the end. The Administrative staff do not respect anyone, their students, parents or their teachers.

Our experience has been poor. The staff turnover is really high and the administration is poorly organized. Special education resources are slow.

Do not send your child here! This place is run by bad people!

We've had bad experiences here. There used to be good things here, but not anymore. The principal needs to be fired.
