I attended Westland for 5 years, and absolutely loved it. The teachers had a passion for their job, and took an interest in students personal and academic lives, and care for them as their own. I loved the small classes, and the large family feeling. The teachers strive to get the students interested in learning, finding their strengths and interests, and helping them make their way through the journey that it life.

It's the great teachers that make a school great, and Westlands Teachers are dedicated to the education of each individual child.

I believe westland is generally unsafe, there are many safety harzards all over, and the conditions are quite inadequet for children of any age. The main concern I had for this school is the asphalt, the asphalt is no place for school children to be playing on, and the fact that this place looks like a truck stop/parking lot/factory there is no shade to aid the students in survival of the brutal summer heat, and the students are also forced to eat their lunch in a 'lunch room' when in all reality it is mearly a place to sit, when schools should be equiped with a cafeteria, and futhermore there should also exist a formal library not a 9 foot by 9 foot closet disguised as a library. This school, however, does have teachers that really care about the student's success and some that believe that book work is

I am a graduate from westland school class of 2008. I attended westland for 5 uears and those were the best years in my entire in school career. The teachers are so involved in the learning process, and support individuality, they accept your flaws and really go the extra mile to ensure that you succeed. and as far as students go, its amazing to see such an eclectic group of people attending westland each and every year. Westland is truly one of the most socially accepting school i've ever seen and if i could, i would gladly give y deploma back and start all over again :)

Westland is great school that is concerned with each child's development on a personal level. When I call the school they know my children by name. They don't just look at a computer or folder like the bigger district schools. I am aware of everything that goes on and I feel comfortable knowing that they are getting a great education by people who genuinely care about them.

I transferred my two daughters to Westland for this school year, after a frustrating experience with overcrowding in Laveen schools. The school is very small, and everyone knows everyone, which I love. I see my girls teachers outside every day when I pick them up. The teachers are all wonderful, and supportive. They have many family oriented events that we enjoyed. My girls have made lots of friends. Although I have made the decision to move the kids back to Laveen, for the traditional school, I would recommend Westland to anyone. We will miss it.

I am a high school student at westland charter school and in my opinion, it's one of the best schools around. Kathy Couch and Pat Keech know practically every student in the school by name and they know all of the parents too. I am still attending westland and this is my 3rd year here but I absolutely love it there and the learning environment is awesome. The teachers are all very friendly and they all are willing to help any student that is falling behind or needs some extra help with their work, like tutoring. So this school is a great place to attend and I highly recommend it for any parent who is considering it.

In the heart of the exclusive, trendy sector of West Phoenix, Westland School has withstood the trials of establishing a functioning educational institution that rivals many, more affluent school districts in the area. A strong family-oriented feel, creates a safe learning foundation. and sometimes extreme 'EXTRA'-curricularAmong the remedial and benign subjects (and 'educators' that teach them) in the the ever-dynamic curricula, there does exist a ginormus potential for academic and personal development for ambitious young scholars seeking to conquer new horizons. Lack of sincere support for its own mission and goals, by administrators and faculty, combined with a moderate level of sub-par, superficial parental catalysm reduces this schools overall quality across the board. Students who possess a high level of motivation & creativity, enjoy having the option to succeed & learn from real-world situations and interactions with the environment created by Westland School will surely excel in the halls of academia

Westland is the best thing that happened to my child. In kindergarten, he learned how to read, learned some sign language, and some Spanish. Additionally, he was exposed to the world of Science and Social Studies. My son is currently in first grade and loves school! The academics thus far has been excellent! With a low student/teacher ratio, each child gets more one on one attention. The school understands that each child is different - with each having a different way of learning, different strengths and weaknesses, different backgrounds. The school does their best to teach to each child, instead of the traditional 'one size fits all' approach. With such a small school, the directors know each child by name. They know the parents by name. The entire staff makes you feel like you are a vital part of your child's education and that you are welcome there. I highly recommend Westland!

Westland school provides a superior education utilizing caring, experienced teachers and adminstrators. The class sizes are very small, enablin significant one on one attention for students. The family atmosphere allows for every child to feel welcome, involved and an integral part of the Westland Community.

I also was a student that attended here. I am the shy type of person not to outspoken and not that great in academics or sports either. So making friends was and is a never ending struggle. The teachers helped me reach my full potential and the students were great also. Thx to the staff here at this school I am now currently going phoenix college and just recently got accepted to Duke University to study medicine I greatly appreciate all of the teachers work and time and highly reccomend this school to anyone. (As you can tell my best subject wasn't english so I appologize for all the gramatical errors.)

I am not a parent, I am actually a student. Westland School has been nothing less of a miracle to me. It provides a friendly, safe enviroment and the teachers and staff truely do care about the students of thier school and their academic needs.

I have three daughters that have graduated from Westland. All three had complications in high school. I positive at a public school would have ignored or given up on. But Westland stood by them and was conserned with thier education even after the dropped out. thier consern is what drew my girls back to school and inabled them to graduate. I especially want to mention Mrs. Pat Keech tthe schools co director for her love and concern for every student.

This is only based on high school. I brought my son over from a public high school in Glendale that he was currently failing in. After one semester in Westland there was a world of difference. Sure he still had some difficulties, but the staff kept working with him and finally got him to realize his full potential. Now after looking at spending extra quarters in school to graduate, he is looking at graduating early! The only reason that my daughter (grade schooler) doesn't go there is because I do not like the fact that all ages of students are together before and after school, where I think that there should be a strick seperation of the students at all times.
