Academy of Arizona - Main Reviews

Teachers at this school have a great sense of community and teamwork. They always put the students first and this is apparent by the long hours the teachers put in, whether afterschool programs, or helping out the community. They recently got new administration and the school is on it's way to the top.

A lot of students move to this school from others where they were removed for the misbehavior.Administration don't provide real help for teachers, ignore student's bullying.Kids understand it and continue to misbehave and destroy lessons. I don't recommend any parents to choose this school for their kids.

this school has its ups and downs the teachers are great but that is about it and at the start of this year my sons 7th grade class went through 5 teachers in the first three weeks of school

I would not recommend this school due to the fact the principal has no control over this school. My children were 2 grades behind in educational learning. That is sad because the principal an not run this school effectiently.

The only thing this school has going for it is the teachers! They work hard and do the very best they can. Unfortunately the principal ignores bullying and the building is falling apart! there is a canal that runs behind the school and the school refuses to fix the fence between the canal and playground. The curriculum is outdated and there is a severe shortage of textbooks. think twice before enrolling your kids!

The school is great the 8th grade teacher is the best Ive seen. The discipline needs a little work, but the admin. seems to be getting things in order. I have a lot of good things to say about this school AOA has really helped me child.

The common school discipline is very low and administration don't work for it improvement. The most teachers are good but misbehaved students do not give them opportunity to teach and disturb all class during lessons.

This school is unorganized and to busy to handle issues that may arise between the students. The principle needs a lot of improvement in her leadership and management.

Leadership is a joke. Good teachers are forced out while others are left to rule the roost.

My daughter goes to Academy of Arizona. I have 2 things that bothers me from the school. The food is way to greasy and the children do not have enough physical education. Other than that i love what academy has done for my child.

The leadership in this school is excellent. They took a bad school and brought it back to a school that functions well now. My child has begun to enjoy school and the staff there is caring and teaches state standards. The proof is there. Thank you Academy of Arizona!

I have recently removed my child from this school. There is not a strong leadership in place at this time. The school does not excel and the classes are constantly being changed. Students are switched from teacher to teacher. They teach to the AIMS test, rather than focusing on academic excellence. I would not recommend this school to other parents.
