Redwood Elementary Academy Reviews

I remember struggling with where to send our son to school for kindergarten. There were many things for us to consider. This is now our son's second year and we could not be happier! Our son loves school!! Redwood has a family atmosphere that is refreshing. Everyone knows and looks out for one another. Every student that we have seen walks with their head up and with an air of confidence not normally seen. This is something that you cannot measure by test scores. The teachers are outstanding!! They are very good at working with the individual student. This is why Redwood is now a Performing Plus school. What more could you ask for in a school?

What a great school. I love the high parental involvement and the many great teachers. It's great to have a school so close by that maintains that small town feel. The student to teacher ratio is wonderful. I couldn't have found a better school that fits both me as a involved parent and my child.

This school has helped my children out of their shells. My son hates public schools. I also have a high school student and her class is great. She loves it and the small class size. My son's class has 12 kids vs. public 33 kids. See another eason charters are better. More one on one with the kids.

We are a small school with a family-feel environment. Our older students know all of the younger students. Everyone works together in a united effort to progress the academic and social welfare of each student. Often when giving orientations to the school I tell parents We are not here to educate your child; rather we are here to assist you with the education of your child. Who knows the child the best? Obviously it is the parent. We request our parents to be involved in all areas and be an integral part of the school. We request parents to volunteer in the school. Volunteers are most welcome. We need volunteers to help with foreign language, music, sports, reading, art, etc. We are looking for parents and community members who can donate their time to coming into the school to be involved with the academics of our school. Our academic curriculum is aligned with Arizona State Standards. I keep track of each student s progress in reading, writing, and math. Our teachers chart out with the parent and student how the student will bet where he/she is expected to be by the end of the year through parent-teacher conferences and regular communications with the parent. Reading, writing, and math are approached on a very independent level. Student stretch as far as they are able and see great progress as they help chart out and record their own progress. Students take ownership of their education. I have enjoyed working with the high caliber of staff, faculty, parents, and students at this school. It is a very unique school with a wonderful spirit. If you are not currently a part of us, come and take a look.

My child started at the bottom of his class and with in a year was at the top. This really is a good school. Small and homey feeling. They make you feel like family there.

I continue to be impressed with how well my boy are progressing at this school. Reading, Math, Writing, Social Skills, and Science. I would like to see more extracurricular activities, like music. Good parental support from other parents for fund raising activities and for making Redwood a fun place to learn. Most other students are respectfull. Love the uniform idea. Would like to see a bigger more traditional campus. 1st, 2nd and 3rd grade teacher are golden apple aware winners. I have yet to regret a day that my children are students at Redwood. Great School!

Redwood is like a family - small, but caring. The teachers are committed to their students and their safety. The school has good communication with parents. High standards are expected. They teach character through poems and songs during flag raising each morning. Kids are encouraged to do their best and to keep learning.

This school has undergone some leadership changes and is still changing. Changes come slowly for this school. While the teachers are good, some exxcellent, there are no extra curricular activities available, and parental involvement is limited to the parents working at the school.
