South Ridge High School Reviews

I have been teaching at Southridge for 4 years and I have seen lives transformed there. Southridge is in a low income neighborhood and the area is seen as not very good. Many people think that the kids from this area are never going to get anywhere. I'm here to tell you...our kids are superstars! I have seen kids who didn't have a chance to succeed in large school become honors students at Southridge. Our small campus and caring administration has truly changed this area for the better. 100% of our 2008-09 graduates are going to college. Our standarized test scores are high. If you are looking for the best school for your determined child, this is it! Don't let the word 'charter' scare you off. We are a college prep school and I am proud of my school, students, and administration.

I love this school it has changed my life. The teachers are amazing and the administration is respectful and honest. SRHS makes its students be responsible for their actions. SRHS is the greatest school i've ever gone to and I recommend it for anyone who is serious about getting a good education.

My son has been attending South Ridge since January I am very happy with his progress his grades have improved and his teachers stay in close contact to let me know how he is doing

I have been a parent since this school opened. Each year they seem to get even better. South Ridge worked so well with my oldest son, my 2 youngest children go there now. South Ridge always puts the kids needs before anything else. They really want to assist every child in succeeding and becoming the best they can be. I have seen them work hard for other children that are not mine. I tell everyone I know how awesome this school is. I am a very proud parent of 2 students at South Ridge High School.

Another year has gone by and South Ridge continues to grow.... I can only imagine that this will become one of the best schools in the area. The curriculm, safety, and teahcer/administration participation gets a 10. My daughter has never been so sad to leave a school liked she has now, she has now graduated and will be moving on into the real world.

I want to take the moment to thank South Ridge with all their help this year. My son not only passed his AIMS test but exceeded in his writing which made him very happy. All year South Ridge held workshops and provided the students with practice packets even during the winter and spring break which I thought was useless but see that all this benefited him and many others at the school from the feedback I received from him. South Ridge is still pretty much new and even though some parents might hesitate to take them their, it will be the best move you'll make, I truly believe this. My son would have been a # at Trevor Browne but I now he counts at South Ridge...... thank you.

Well, I used to be a student at South Ridge and I can truly say that it is possible for the student to get the best education. The staff is overwhelming, professional, and honorable. The principal, is in fact, the best in the Midwest Valley, of Phoenix, Mr. Kerry Clark. I can recommend this school to any parent.

My daughter is currently a sophomore at South Ridge high school. In the last few weeks she has meet with the administration regarding preparing for the AIMS tests she is required to take this year. My daughter has expressed somewhat of a frustration on everything that is being asked of her this early in the year, but understands that this will help her pass, if not exceed her scores on AIMS. Discipline and safety are also a big part of her success at school. I love knowing that she is safe and that the administration is their to support her and all the other students. The office staff is friendly and always willing to help when I call of visit the school. The move to this school has been a positive one for all of us.

As a student at South Ridge HS, I can honestly tell you that this is quite possibly the best education you will get within a fifty mile radius. The staff are caring, professional, and trustworthy. The principal is the best in the valley, a fact which I support with my experience at other schools in Phoenix. At SRHS, you feel safe. This lets students focus on learning, not on watching their backs. The Advanced Placement courses offered are challenging and yet rewarding.

This is an excellent school with an administration and faculty that truly cares about educating students and helping them develope character. The small enviornment encourages more individualized attention and allows staff to know students on a first name basis. The front office staff is very friendly, helpful and knowledgeable. I wish public schools cared as much as this school. All parents should want their children at this school

This school uses a lot of old fashion rules that teach children respect towards others and themselves. The teachers take more time teaching and make sure the students understand all that they are teaching. My student is really enjoying the program at South Ridge, even the sports that they do have. Other sports as well as music, fine arts, dance, ect., are available out side of the school if one looks. The quality of the academics, sports, parent involvement, quality of teachers and staff is some of the best I have seen in a long time. The staff wants to see the young people grow into respectable, educated adults with the knowledge of what it will take to tackle life after High School

I think this school isn't so great. Most of the rules are totally ridiculous and it seems like the care more for their reputation. The sports aren't so great either!
