Phoenix Thomas J Pappas Regional Elementary School Reviews

Let's make it clear -- the mission of TJ Pappas is to serve the educational & social needs of homeless children. Head lice? Yeah, we got that. Bad language? Sometimes. More importantly, Pappas makes sure that kids are transported, fed, clothed, & provided a continuity of caring professionals during an otherwise entirely unstable set of circumstances. There is medical care as well, and other amenities to help students cope. I worked at Pappas for 4 1/2 years as a mental health professional (Early Intervention Specialist) helping students develop the assets & tools to be resilient.

This school is amazing. The things they do for families in need is unsurpassed.

This is the worst school I have ever had to send my daughter to. There is violence amoung the students, and offensive language. There is little to no academics to challenge gifted students, and recently head lice spread through the entire school with no action from the school. Very little parent envolvment. Do not take your child to this school.

Great school. encourages kids and makes them feel good about themselves.gives them a shot at a good life despite thier problems.

This is a wonderful school that caters to homeless families.

Services available to all students are fantastic. Children develop a strong sense of security because they have one stable thing in their life school. Parents benefit also as the school is a wonderful resource network to help a homeless family rebuild a new home.
